Classic Chewy Blondies
Kept by The Bhook kitchen
Ingredients
- 150 g plain flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 160 g brown sugar
- 115 g butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 80 g chopped walnuts
- 80 g chocolate chips
Method
- Preheat oven to 175°C. Line a 20 cm square baking tin with parchment.
- In one bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. In another, whisk together melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
- Fold the dry mix into the wet until just combined; don’t overmix.
- Stir in walnuts and chocolate chips. Spread the batter evenly in the pan.
- Bake 23–26 minutes. The top should be set and slightly puffed, with a toothpick coming out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool at least 20 minutes before cutting.
Take care not to overbake. The center should look just set for chewy blondies.
